Some Days, You Just Need a Moral Pick-Me-Up.

So I put on the soundtrack to How To Train Your Dragon which I haven’t listened to in a while and decided to read this article about the unveiling of the newly restored Magna Carta at the National Archives. Consequentially, this document is privately owned by billionaire David Rubenstein who’s a history buff who believes that everyone should be able to appreciate such important pieces of our history, so he gives money to a ton of charities and organizations for this very purpose. As a history buff myself, I was quite proud. Then I looked him up on Wikipedia and found out he’s part of The Giving Pledge. This pleased me even more. Then as I was looking up other billionaires part of the campaign, I stumbled across Eli Broad. He’s an avid art collector and partially responsible for the creation of The Walt Disney Concert Hall. Anyway, according to Wikipedia, he bought a Roy Lichtenstein painting for $2.5 million at a Sotheby’s auction with his American Express credit card and earned 2.5 million frequent flyer miles in the process. I thought that was funny and wished to share it with you. Carry on.
